Researchers Yearn to use AOL Logs

The NY Times has an article Researchers Yearn to use AOL Logs (see also the ACM TechNews) that describes the temptation that researchers face when deciding whether or not to use the AOL logs (see AOL Releases Search Logs of 657,427 Users). Some are calling the AOL log release the Data Valdez as a reminder of the Exxon Valdez.

Cloning of the e-Passport

An Article abut German computer security consultants cloning the new e-Passport. Lukas Grunwald, a security consultant with DN-Systems in Germany, has shown he can copy the data on the e-Passport RF chip and is going to demonstrate this at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas.
